Dr. Gilbert made her paw print and even helped me get my own for a frame, and cut some fur and whiskers. It truly struck me that she understood what saying good-bye means when she individually pressed letters for Daisy’s name into the clay. If you ever have to make this decision, I can’t recommend Dr. Gilbert enough. She helped make a horribly sad day a little easier, and I’m so grateful she has a practice where we can send our best friends off in the most comforting, dignified way possible. I think having the experience I did truly helped me accept that I made the right decision, even if it hurt to do so.

Thank you again, Dr. Gilbert. I hate saying I will use you again, but when the day comes, it’s so comforting to know you’re there to help.

It first started with the phone support staff who made the appointment with me. Brandi, who is one of the phone support staff reps, allowed me the time I needed to get through our discussion and never rushed me. She showed so much compassion that it made it a tad easier. I cannot thank her enough for that.

When Dr Gilbert came to our appointment, she was so kind and compassionate and greeted all the dogs. Her personality is well suited to this, and she allowed me to talk about anything I wanted, which made it a bit easier. She never rushed the appointment and explained everything she was doing. The whole time, Lucy was on my lap, and I was able to pet her throughout, which helped so much. Dr. Gilbert treated Lucy with dignity, she took her time and at the end even had a little basket to put her in and covered her ever so gently with a blanket. I cannot thank her enough for all that she did and how she treated Lucy with respect and dignity.

Yes, this service is a tad more expensive than going to your vet, but it is so much more personal even though Dr. Gilbert was a stranger. I could not bear the thought of taking Lucy to the vet and leaving without her. This was so much easier and peaceful for Lucy, me and her sister and brother. We all got to say goodbye to her, and she died peacefully in her home surrounded by love. So, to me, the added expense was so worth it, and I am glad that I did it this way. And I will do the same thing when the time comes for my other fur babies.
